One of the biggest roadblocks when it came to booking my own Family’s Portrait session is that I’ve always considered it “out of budget”. I never thought that we would be one of those families that booked a portrait session for $1,000, but there I was at the beach with my kids & husband in front of the camera! So that got me thinking… if we could afford this session- a family of (at the time) 4 that at the time made around $50,000/year, how could I help other families understand that they could, too?
A few tips that I have when it comes to booking a Family Session on a budget!
Don’t pay for everything at once!
MEP (Miranda Eorio Photography) offers payment plans because I understand that your family has bills to pay! While your family portraits are so important & valuable, other bills do exist. My families have used 1 paycheck to put down the deposit of $100 and then break up the remaining balance over 2 or 3 paychecks! Those bite sized payments create more excitement than fear, and you get to work WITH your budget to get something that you deserve- not against it!
Book a Smaller Collection!
So you’re not ready to go all in when it comes to booking a FULL Family Legacy Portrait- that’s okay! You’re still deserving of a session that captures your family in it’s entirety! So what’s your next step? You book a SMALLER Collection that still focuses on your family’s connection, personality, & legacy. Just because your budget doesn’t stretch as far as someone else, doesn’t mean that you’re any less deserving of a truly beautiful experience with a professional that cares for your family.
Book an Extended Family Session!
More family members but you’re paying less money- how does that even work? Because when you’re booking an Extended Family Session you’re bringing together your brother & sister, parents, and children! That means that you can spread the payments out a little bit more! When you offer to book a portrait session you could split that 3 ways (or at least between all of your siblings!)
Have you considered booking a session but, like me, the price was stopping you from moving forward? I have been there so many times!
With my kids getting older I have fewer and fewer pictures to look back on because I went without these portraits for a long time.
