Sometimes there are no words to explain a Family Session, and this one absolutely left me speechless. Kids and the beach mix so well! They’re surrounded by wildlife, water, sand castles, and it’s probably one of their favorite places to be! This Ocean City New Jersey Beach Session was absolutely no exception! It’s one of my favorite places to be, too. Do you have memories of your family going to the beach when you were little? And now you’re trying to create those same happy memories for your children!
Louis & Aria were so in love with being at the beach & playing in the water that they hardly noticed I was even present with them! Kids can be like that, so wrapped up in the fun that they forget there might be another purpose for a quick beach visit. Did we let that affect the portraits, though? No way! Capturing them in their element is the most important piece of Family Photography. They laughed, played, jumped in waves, ran together, and love spending time with each other.
It’s okay to focus on the moments where the kids aren’t looking at the camera! It’s also okay to let kids be kids and capture them in their own environment, figuring things out as they go. Being a Family Photographer means finding a happy medium, and sometimes (if not always!) that includes candid moments and following their lead.
