Ocean City New Jersey will forever hold a place in my heart since we take the kids there (almost) every year! We’re not the only ones that have fallen in love with the beach. I know so many families that spend time together running around in the sun, lounging on the beach, playing in the water, and hitting the amusement park- Playland’s Castaway Cove!
Who knew that a day forecasted with thunderstorms and rain could lead to such a a beautiful morning! The clouds were coming over the beach at the end of our time together. It may have made us rush to the car out of a little bit of fear of the heavy rainfall. But! We all made it back in one piece, and these portraits speak for themselves.
Dancing with your father on the beach to the sound of the waves, seagulls, and giggles. This has to be a new core memory for these girls. Their mom holding their hand, guiding them down the shore, stopping to collect seashells, and twirling in their dresses.
The Wanamaker Family
They raced down the beach hand in hand, booty bumped in the waves, and danced until they were out of breath and their hair was covering their little faces.
1 outfit change later they were knee deep in the water once again. They were searching for the sea shells that they’d bring home with them. They were jumping the waves with mom, and dad couldn’t help but smile and watch as the 3 loves of his life were creating memories that would last a lifetime.
When you go to the beach with your kids you probably think of the sand that gets everywhere, or the crowded boardwalk that is always littered with seagulls. Maybe you’re thinking that there isn’t enough changing rooms for the whole family, and the stroller isn’t big enough to carry the beach bags and the kids.
I’m guilty of it, I know I am. But I’m also brought back down when I look at the kids and see how magical everything is in their eyes. How the giggle as the seagulls race to the fries they throw on the sand. The magic in seeing a hermit crab on the boardwalk, and the way they jump the tiniest waves and have the most magical look on their faces, like they just did the most amazing thing in their little world.
The beach brings so many memories of my kids when they were little, and I hope that when you decide to bring your family back to the beach, that you invite me along. Let me capture these fleeting memories for your family, because you all deserve to look back on these core memories together.
